Striproll Nailstrip is an attractive architectural aesthetic weatherproof cladding product.
Standard panels supplied are:
26mm rib x 285 mm cover
38mm rib x 260 mm cover
Pan Head fasteners. CL3 or better. 10g 12-25 or stronger to suit substrate.
Fastener spacing 300mm
Striproll NailStrip is available in Colorbond® (22 standard colours), Colorbond MATT® (6 standard colours), Zincalume® in 0.55 BMT material thickness.
Steel grade is G300 soft feed.
Care must be taken when fitting panels with flat tray pans to avoid causing dents and creases to these un-stiffened and delicate areas.
The Minimum Pitch is 7.5 degrees for roofing applications. Maximum unsupported overhang is 60mm for roofs and 100mm for walls. Do not allow traffic on completed roof. If required provide cushioned walk boards.
Drip edges should be formed at gutters to prevent capillary caused leakages.
Panels should be fixed to:
15mm CD grade plywood substrate on max support spacing for plywood substrate at 540mm centers or 17mm CD grade plywood substrate on max support spacing for plywood substrate at 600mm centers. All Plywood joins and edges must be flush and true. Uneven substrate may cause increased unwanted aesthetic imperfections to be visible such as an oil canning effect.
A Breathable vapor barrier such as CSR “Proctor Wrap RW” for walls or “ProctorWrap HT-R for roofing” or Fletchers “Sisalation Vapawrap Metal Roof” should be fitted beneath Nailstrip sheeting and laid over plywood (or steel battens) prior to fixing.
The sheet shall be fastened through the Under-lap slots with 10g-12x25 Wafer-head screws (class 3 or equivalent recommended). Fasteners shall be spaced at 300mm centers. Fix at center of slots to allow thermal movements. It is important to select a flat headed screw that will not cause dents to the sheet when fitted. Do not over tighten screws where it is desirable to allow sheets to expand and contract with thermal effects. Remove the protective film prior to fitting panels. Where cladding is fitted to a roof with pitch less than 7.5 degrees, the laps shall be sealed with neutral cure silicone sealant.
IMPORTANT: Avoid standing on panel ribs for roofing applications to avoid denting and damaging sheeting. If required provide cushioned walk boards.
Thermal expansion of the sheeting is 2.9mm on average per 5 meters of sheet length for 50 degrees Celsius temperature change. No warranties against thermal expansion noise are provided. Fixing to steel battens may increase the amount of thermal noise generated from expansion and contraction. Using a quality vapor permeable water proof barrier may reduce noise from thermal expansion and contraction is recommended. Thermal expansion must be considered when determining sheet length and can induce distortion to the panel if the panel is not allowed to freely expand and contract as required.
Sheeting start fasteners and male rib should be flashed over after securing through underlap slots.
Some oil canning effect may be evident in this product and may be caused by a number of reasons. For example, oil canning can be due to un-trueness in the flatness of the buildings substrate, turning up or down the sheet ends (only generally localised to sheet end), effect of thermal change, handling onsite, inherent (and expected) shape in the feed coil; this is expected and common in all flat tray sheet metal products is not a product fault. No warranties are offered against the presence or occurrence of oil canning and shall not be reason for product rejection.
Coverage: +/- 4mm Sheet Length: +/- 7mm Maximum sheet length: 6.000 m Minimum sheet length 0.900 m
Remove all scrap and swarf from completed installation to prevent subsequent Staining from corrosion.
Additional processing service charge for any length shorter than 900 mm.
