The sheet has integral UV protection. Over 10 years the increase in the yellowness value from that of the sheet when new, does not exceed 15. The test method employed to assess any change in the yellowness value is specified in ASTM D 1925 - 1988. Yellowness can also be caused by atmospheric deposits, dirt, chemical reaction etc., and must be considered as normal wear and tear.
Fire safety. Polycarbonate sheeting is rated as a self extinguishing building material. Complies with AS1530.3, 1989 Early Fire Hazard Test.

Ampelite Warrant Solasafe 0.8mm polycarbonate sheeting against damage from hail up to 19mm in diameter accompanied by winds up to 100 km/hr. for a period of 5 years.
Listed below are chemicals or products that are not compatible with Polycarbonate sheeting. Where risk of exposure to these substances is evident, Ampelite glass reinforced polyester sheeting (fibreglass) should be used.
These chemicals and products are harmful to Polycarbonate.
- Nitric Acid
- Potassium Hydroxide
- *Methyl Ethyl Ketone
- *Methyl Ethylene Chloride
- *Chlorinated Hydrocarbons
* It should be noted that after prolonged exposure to these chemicals fibreglass may also deteriorate to some extent. Consult your local Striproll office for further information.
